I've rebuilt the agent using ConfigureBroker.exe, tried to manually runs scans with the following command 90% of our machines are remote and most will never connect directly to the network or VPN in. We also have a Management Gateway, which I believe is set up properly now. I have changed this, but still can't get clients to scan. The main one to note was that the clients were refering to the core's hostname, not the FQDN. Many things were not set up properly but I've just upgraded to 9.5 and I am trying to find and fix all of the problems. I have recently taken over LANDesk at my new company and it's a mess and not set up properly. #Wmi printer serial number windows 7We are running a newly re-built 9.6 sp1 core with over 2000 machines which are almost exclusively Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise. Has anyone successfully queried HKCU? If so, can you post a sample script/process? I have seen a few posts suggesting you might have to use strasuser.exe but no examples or feedback indicating it worked. We have very few people with local admin rights. I have tried some of the sample scripts that copy HKCU keys to HKLM (Printer.vbs) and adapted for our purposes, but it will only work when the logged in user is a local admin. We have verified that it works on some machines where the inventory was ran with the user logged on.įrom what I can find on other posts, querying HKCU is next to impossible for a reliable query response. #Wmi printer serial number softwareWe have defined a custom data definition in the manage software list for the correct HKCU key and string. We are testing a new proxy and are trying query HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings for a string value - AutoConfigURL. #Wmi printer serial number PcI have today set the 'keep inventory reports for' setting back to 0 - I had changed it to 7 at some point in the past, but I right clicked on my (W0T) pc and did a Inventory scan - which did run, as it battered my PC for 15mins, but still hasn't replaced the missing info in Device Manager.in fact you can see the time it ran on the screenshot if you look closely at W0T. I'm beginning not to trust my device list, I have been asked to run a Software Compliance report, and I can see that PC's that definately have certain software installed are mssing from the Compliance report - which makes a mockery of the report - I can't trust it. Why does this happen? The info always used to be there.I have many multiple missing devices now. #Wmi printer serial number fullI have attached a screen shot on the console - you can see blank lines in the list of devices, and I have opened the properties for 2 machines:ĭev ID = W0T is my own PC - missing info.ĭev ID = W0P is a PC next to me with full info. I noticed today that now my own PC has done this. The device ID is there (eg Computer name), can ping it etc, but all the other info is missing, eg Device Desc, Full Name etc, and when clicking on them to get their properties, its as if they have never had an inventory scan. Have a problem, and have had for some time, some PC's 'disappear' from our list of devices. Since this is using an LDSCNHLP.INI extension, you'll want to manually edit that file if you plan on using findpst.vbs in addition to any other scripts that are launched from within that file. Query on machines where Custom Data - Total PST Size is larger than you like. Send a managed script to execute the script: REMEXEC00="wscript.exe C:\Progra~1\LANDesk\LDClient\FindPST.vbs", SYNC ought to do. This script is an excellent example of how LANDesk Management Suite can be extended with VBSscript to gather and query just about any random chunk of data.ĭistribute the contents of findpst.zip to your client's c:\program files\landesk\ldclient directory (if that's not your %LDCLIENTDIR%, you'll want to edit these two files appropriately). #Wmi printer serial number how toHow to find the number and size of PST files in the organization. When I tried to execute Step # 2 using another batch file I got an error message stating under the result column "incorrect function" I was able to copy the files to the client machine using a batch file.
